Every year I give you a warming cocktail, this year is no different, so here is something very interesting.
My pear and cranberry Christmas punch,
1 liter pear cider/Perry
1 liter pear (or cloudy apple) juice
1 liter cranberry juice
good handful fresh or dried cranberries
150ml sloe gin
2 cinnamon sticks
2 vanilla pod, scored lengthways
Put all the ingredients into the largest saucepan you have. When you’re ready to serve, heat it gently, and serve into glasses with slices of pear dipped in cinnamon and chocolate.
Or the classic the champagne cocktail
1 sugar cube (½ teaspoon sugar)
3 dashes Angostura Bitters
a splash of Cognac
Champagne or any sparkling wine
Place a sugar cube in a champagne flute, add 2 or 3 dashes of bitters and a splash of cognac, fill the glass with brut champagne or other bubbly, and squeeze a lemon twist on top. Enjoy, but be careful they are powerful.
